About Me

My name is Davie, and I write poetry; but being here you probably already know that. What you probably want to know is something different. Well where do I start? I grew up in Belfast in Northern Ireland before moving to Portsmouth in England for University. I study Speech, Language and Communication Science and would love to become either and speech and language therapist or a teacher of some sort. I’ll see where life takes me.

Being gay is a huge part of my life, as it is for many people. It sets you apart from “normal” but it doesn’t define who I am. I’ve got lots of hobbies, I love watching football, playing football, playing football video games, reading about football, listening to anything about football and writing about football… Obsessed might be an understatement. I enjoy writing more than poetry and write a lot of stories, some that I never publish online and some that I do. I love spending time with close friends, watching movies, reading, and going for runs.

I also currently have two jobs, one as a sales assistant in a well known UK store. The other as an activity leader at a school for international students. So I don’t have a lot of time for doing all the stuff above that I enjoy!

I’m sure from reading my poetry you’ll learn a lot more about me, who I am and what I believe. But if that doesn’t satisfy your curiosity feel free to get in touch on the “Contact Me” page or leave a comment somewhere on the site!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Ahhhh … the nature of “Time” ; for, I am both the kid in the Easter suit and the old man in the hoodie.

For you, it’s football. For me it’s flying.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel for me. Each day is totally consumed with my somewhat seemingly failing attempt to manage a food cart. A bad decision – maybe. But for now, my faith in my business partner has proven out. The business is growing, and so are the expenses. He’s the Dreamer, and I’m the Numbers-Guy. He lives the dream, I pencil in the reality. No time for fun.

May your search for life be filled with fun. It makes things so much better.
